How to get your work featured in Wired, BoingBoing, and News.com by not following directions.
This past week work by my twelve-year-old and his nine-year-old sister was featured in major news outlets, thanks to a blog I made to document their creative misuse of their toys. (They sensibly asked me not to reveal their names online.)
The work of these “Lego Hackers”–creating miniature replicas of official kits, building Star Trek ships out of Star Wars sets, and generally attaching bricks to each other in ways unintended by their manufacturer–was profiled in Wired.com, BoingBoing, and News.com.
